    Day of Culture!

    Friday, January 29th, 2010

I had a very cultured day yesterday!

Viewed some interesting artists at Brunswick Street Gallery.

The artists i found most interesting were

    Ashlee Pritchard

Really bright, pop like ‘consumerisim’ type concept with objects. Very delcious prop work to look at.

    (phone camera image…)

    Samuel Burns

Amazing perfect Fine art prints – technically and subjectivly so beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed the complete smoothness of the landscapes, and did well justice printed large scale.

    Kara Baird

Who’s artwork i recognised straight away, as she was the International Aperture Awards Ametuer Runner up.

Although majority of the work was photographic, i was a little disappointed at the intense print quality of some work, as people like to print large, they do in fact not resize their works properly or even profile their printers so the magnified pixelation is devastating. To the Trained eye :P

Then I went on and did the wholleeeee National Gallery of Victoria!

yep alllll the European 17th 18th Century paintings. Boring parts of Asia, some contemporary photography and finishing oof with contemporary paintings.

    Including this really cool installation.

    IMG_0022

Pretty much a neon ladder that changes colour, attached to a mirror on the roof and the floor. creating the eternity effect, and quiet a clever  concept using a ladder to climb.. forever into the heavens or the hells.

oh also viewed the most expensive ikea chairs.. (not really) but his one infact was created by an Australian in the 1950’s!

    I like it.
